Manchester Collective, Richard Strauss: Four Last Songs and Metamorphosen — Bold Tendencies, Peckham (London UK) NOW Later: Draw-In — NOW Gallery, Greenwich (London UK)

I loved this performance! I didn’t know too much about the Manchester Collective before I went but they were incredible and so generous with their knowledge. What I love about Bold Tendencies is that it’s exposed to the elements and you can hear the sound of the Overground as it turns the corner. To see the weather change from sunny to cold and windy as they performed a work about life and death, celebrating the beauty and inevitably, was amazing.

Curator Jemima Burrill and the NOW Gallery team design the most thoughtful events that really do bring people together. I often go by myself and meet such lovely people and have really interesting conversations. I was really happy to see that artists Laxmi Hussain and Frances Costelloe were hosting workshops. While I wasn’t able to do Frances workshop, I did get to see Laxmi paint Margie Belle with her signature electric blue fluid lines — both a soothing and thrilling experience — and do a little life drawing.
